Scott Collins sent a personal message to Lewis Hamilton on the day of his victory in Brazil. Scott Collins, Parliamentary candidate for the Liberal Democrat in South Northamptonshire, said "This is fantastic for Britain and British sport, it is another example of British grit, skill and dedication winning through. Lewis drove an incredible race showing both intelligence and calm in an electric atmosphere"

In a message to Lewis Scott said-

"I was overjoyed to revel in your performance today. It is a great tribute both to your undoubted talents as a driver, and to the team supporting you, but to the grit and determination that marks British sport above all others in the sporting field.

As the Liberal Democrat Candidate for South Northamptonshire i have been working to retain the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. It would be great if you could in some way show your support for this campaign. Given your new found , but richly deserved, role as World Champion it would be a great boon to the campaign if you were to endorse the retention of the Grand Prix at Silverstone.

I was heartened to see so many members of your family enjoying your great day at the home of British motor sport, Silverstone.

Silverstone can be the circuit of the future and remain as the heart of British motor sport but only if the FIA and other keep the faith"

Scott commented saying "It was great to see Lewis's family Silverstone further showing ,as we have said before, that Silverstone is the true home of British motor sport both physically and in the British mind"

Following Scott's recent motion of support before Northampton Borough Council, this is another call for support from the new formula 1 world champion.

"I do hope that Lewis is able to express his opinion beyond FIA politics?"
