Cut income tax now!

With the UK going ever deeper into recession under Labour, Liberal Democrats are stepping up with call for tax cuts and investment in greener homes and transport to pull the economy out of the slowdown.

"People need money in their pockets now," said Scott Collins, Parliamentary Spokesman for South Northamptonshire. "Liberal Democrats will cut income tax, paid for by closing tax loopholes used by the rich and shifting some of the tax burden onto the most polluting activities.

"But we will also invest in home insulation to make thousands of houses in South Northamptonshire much more energy efficient, saving people money and the planet from unnecessary damage at the same time."
